The Appraisal Foundation is authorized by Congress as the source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications. Our appraisal reports are thoroughly researched legal documents written by qualified professionals in full compliance with the standards set forth by the Appraisal Foundation in The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the code of ethics of the AAA.

Cynthia D. Herbert, President and Principal Appraiser of Appretium, is a member of the Appraisers Association of America and is qualified to appraise fine and decorative art, antiques and general household contents/personal property.  Her extensive gallery and auction experience, as well as her extended studies, define her as a skilled generalist with broad expertise.

Appretium is in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Internal Revenue Service Treasury Regulations 1.170A-13(c)(3) and 1.170A-13(c)(5), which define a “qualified appraiser” and “qualified appraisal” and IRS Publication 561, Determining the Value of Donated Property.
